The Securisport is the device for realistically and variably examining friction characteristics between the shoe and the ground. The friction characteristic of a particular ground surface with the shoes a player is wearing is of great importance in most kinds of sport. Be it a pitch or a court, if a ground develops too little friction with the shoe, fast acceleration is no longer possible for the athlete and no individual progress will be achieved. However, if a ground provides too much friction, it can be a source of injuries. The contact between the skin and the ground is also noteworthy. Synthetic ground surfaces tend to cause burns if a player falls and his skin comes into contact with the ground.

The securisport is a system for determining friction characteristics of floor surfaces and shoe materials. The system is able to detect large variations of measurement conditions:
Forces up to 300N
Velocities up to 2.5 m/s
Any sliding length
Besides normal force, tangential force and velocity, securisport also measures the temperature of the sliding object - making it possible to examine possible skin burns in case a player falls to the ground. The system is operated via PC. The software package contains a user-friendly graphic surface. While measuring, the results are directly transmitted to a PC and graphically presented.
